“Wolleyburgers Bug Bit”

Republicans when in the legislative minority complained bitterly, an rightfully so, about wooleyburger legislation perpetrated by Democrats. The practice of blatantly violating Art 5, Sect. 834 of the Oklahoma Constitution requiring that a bill be read at length before final passage is long-standing. Former Rep and House Member ODilia Dank courageously and vainly attempted to stop the abuse. Unfortunately, our Supreme Court rejected her lawsuit over a decade ago.

What has changed? Certainly not the abusive practice of enacting legislation during the last 48 hours of a legislative session that is not reviewed in compliance with the constitutional mandate of reading at length proposed legislation. Yes, the legislative leadership has changed but not the abuse. Does power corrupt? Representative David Dank Odilia Dank’s husband, now is carrying the banner for Constitutional compliance but his own party leadership turns deaf ears. I guess the Republican legislative leaders have been bitten by the wooleyburger bug that infected those Democrats for so many years.

God only knows that the people of Oklahoma need an exterminator.

Will the real champion of the people constitutional compliance and accountably please step forward this November.

Just Say No To Obama

Sign on MarqueeI have this on the marquee out front of my office. Two-three cars a day stop and take pictures of the sign. I  have had a number of people stop by and thank me for the sign. I have never met most of the individuals that have taken the time to say thank you. I have no idea if  the picture takers are Republican or Democrats.

WASHINGTON — A stimulus package may be a lifeline for the nation’s economy, but it could be a death sentence for a lot of cows.
Lawmakers are looking for ways to use the forthcoming stimulus bill to help dairy farmers, and the number one priority is to dampen milk supplies and prop up prices. Translation: reduce the nation’s dairy herd.
Exactly how Congress will accomplish that remains uncertain. An initial effort to use stimulus money to pay farmers to retire cows failed when House Appropriations Committee Chairman Rep. David R. Obey, D-Wis., objected on the grounds that it violated a promise not to include earmarks in the bill, said Rep. Collin C. Peterson, D-Minn., chairman of the House Agriculture Committee.  Taking milk cows out of production as a way to control milk (for more go to)http://www.watertowndailytimes.com/article/20090115/NEWS02/301159967/0/FRONTPAGE)
