Obama Named Country Music Entertainer of the Year
Surprise Selection Shocks Nashville
NASHVILLE (The Borowitz Report) – President Barack Obama stunned the country music world today by picking up its highest honor, Country Music Entertainer of the Year.
Mr. Obama was chosen unanimously, according to the Country Music Association, beating out such favorite as Carrie Underwood and Toby Keith.
In Nashville, country music insiders were shocked by Mr. Obama’s selection, given that he has only been in office for eight months and during that time has yet to record a single country song.
But Mr. Obama was gracious in receiving the honor, saying that he was “honored and humbled” by the award before excusing himself to accept this year’s Heisman Trophy. More here.

ACORN: A Political Cancer Has Been Set Loose Upon Us
The Body Politic of the United States of America during its 233 year existence has often been infected with corruption and usually because of the existence of thug political machines. One could argue that one of the first acts of political thugery occurred when Aaron Burr shot and killed Alexander Hamilton. (Burr was the one of the originators of machine party politics In New York). Since then we have had such luminary examples such as New York’s Tammany Hall, The Kansas City Pendergast machine and most recently, the infamous Cook County Democratic machine in Chicago, which still operates today. If you feel any need to research into Cook County Politics, I suggest you start with our President, Barack Obama, who is its most distinguished graduate and practitioner of the fine art of Urban Machine/Thug politics.
Right now, one of the most egregious examples of corrupt political organizations is finally getting some notice in the Main Stream Media. The “Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now” (aka “ACORN”) was founded in 1970 and provided Obama his early political training. Make no mistake, Obama is a creature of ACORN. He can deny ACORN no more than he can deny his mother and father. Obama owes his political career to this corrupt organization. Anyone with a Internet connection in the past 14 years could have done research on ACORN and come away with the correct conclusion that ACORN is and remains a plague on the American political landscape and it is fully entwined and part of the corrupt Chicago political system as well as in other cities across the land.

ACORN is under investigation in multiple states for voter fraud, including Minnesota where their involvement probably directly led to the election of Al Franken as Senator. Think about that people. This corrupt, dishonest organization is the main reason Al Franken got elected Senator vice Norm Coleman. This is political corruption at its most dangerous.
Bottom Line: Anyone who is even remotely tuned into the political world is aware that ACORN was and remains a corrupt organization that, for the most part, has been embraced by the most corrupt and entrenched Democrats on the national scene. Only when confronted with a video tape where ACORN workers help plot the smuggling in of teenage girls for prostitution, did the Democrats begin to abandon ACORN.
However, the fact remains that everyone, be they Democrat or Republican, have known for years that ACORN was a taxpayer funded criminal enterprise. For any politician to claim he was not aware of this fact is either :
a) Stupid beyond belief and unfit to hold office.
or
b) Lying and unfit to hold office
Which brings me to our Governor in Florida, Charlie Crist. Charlie Crist has a proven track record of working with and supporting ACORN, from working with them to help cause the Subprime mortgage fiasco, to the support of restoring rights to convicted Felons. Charlie Crist is not a a) “Stupid Beyond Belief and unfit to hold office.” So that leaves us choice “b” unless Gov. Crist can convince the public otherwise.
My fellow citizens of Florida. In order to restore confidence in our system of state government, there needs to be a full and fair investigation in all ACORN activities in Florida. That also means looking into all its various guises, such as “Americans Coming Together” (ACT) Party and the “Service Employees International Union ” (SEIU).
This will require the appointment of an independent counsel that has absolute autonomy from the executive and legislative branches of the State government. While Governor Crist should be the first order of business for the counsel (I presume the Governor would be eager to clear his name and be willing to have any statements he makes under oath open to the public and press for scrutiny), the independent counsel must look into the voter registration fraud that has happened , as well as any financial fraud, or absconding with funds that might have occurred. No one party should be immune from scrutiny, as well as no one person. Above all, Florida needs to know why its Governor thought that ACORN was a fit organization to do business with and how many voter registration lists have been tainted by this organization.
I also urge every state that has a history of ACORN operating inside their borders take this same action in order to root out this fetid, corrupt organization from our political system. I also urge the U.S. Congress to demand an independent Counsel at the Federal level to investigate ACORN. Any Congressman or Senator that fails to call for this should be voted out of office at the earliest opportunity.
Corruption and Politics are old friends. Corruption is allowed to flourish and rob honest citizens only when we, the people, allow it to happen. We have a deadly cancer growing at the highest levels of my State (FL) and at the Federal Government. If ACORN operates in your state, you have the same problem too. Swift and sure surgery to cut out this cancer is the only option that can save us. Call your state and federal representatives and demand ACTION NOW on ACORN. Do it before it is too late.
By The Way, the great “Porkulus Bill” of 2009 made ACORN eligible for BILLIONS of dollars. Think about that…

Four letters to the Editor at the Norman Transcript for the Sunday paper. Every week the Transcript is full of letters from liberals bashing conservative and some times even Christians. Now let’s see how many letters the Transcript prints from conservatives. The interesting thing about these letters is that they were not an organized campaign. It seems as though everyone is feed up with the Transcript’s liberal agenda. Glad to see the silent majority come alive!

Dear Editor
I’m happy to see the American people finally coming back to reality. Last
year we elected Barack Obama because he promised a new kind of politics that
would end the partisan divisions that plagued Washington. Instead, he only
made the problem worse. Now any criticism of the president is met with
cries of racism-a disturbing trend that evinces the intellectual weakness of
his supporters.
Obama also promised to cut the deficit by cutting net government spending.
Instead, we got deficits as large as you can imagine. In less than one
year, he’s increased the deficit by trillions of dollars-giving away
taxpayer money to private corporations and spending it on unnecessary
projects. Worse: Mr.Obama’s budget doubles the national debt to $23.1
trillion, which will equal our entire GDP, in just ten years.
Obama and the Democrats told us that this spending was necessary to grow the
economy and keep unemployment below 8%. Funny how they didn’t think that
when the last president was running up the deficit. Apparently intellectual
consistency isn’t their strong suit. Nevertheless, our economic situation
continues to deteriorate as hundreds of thousand of Americans lose their
jobs each month. The unemployment rate stands at 9.7%, well above the 8%
ceiling Obama and his economic advisers promised. And it’s only going to
get worse.
Now the president and his allies in Congress want to ram a new trillion
dollar spending bill down our throats in the guise of health care reform, an
effort that will raise our taxes and the costs of everyone’s medical care
and insurance. Only in Washington can spending a trillion be considered
saving money. No wonder Obama’s approval ratings have plummeted by 18
points and only 21% view Congress favorably. The people have come back to
reality and realized Obama is just a politician that offers more of the
same.

Dear Editor Rieger,
Much as I respect the opinions expressed by Larry Steele’s letter appearing
on the editorial page last Monday, the health care debate gets down to
whether or not you trust federal government solutions to be the best way to
do health care. If you like federal fixes, look at the Indian health care
system (and about just anything else the US Government has done to “protect”
Native Americans!) Or look at the VA health care system. How well does it
work? Ask a veteran- just don’t ask the veteran who appeared on the front
pages of the Transcript when that decorated but disabled veteran fought to
not get kicked out of the local VA facility. Without Judge Hetherington’s
order for a stay, he would have been evicted! (Thank you Judge!) But do we
want to have to go to court each time a government health employee decides
against us?
According to Steele’s world view, we would already have health
care reform if those power-lusting Republicans would just shut up and row
the boat. While Larry cracks the whip on those he wants to row harder in
the gallery, let’s remember that there are more than enough Democrats to
pass this or any other health plan because Democrats hold comfortable
margins in the Senate and House. But thanks to our own Oklahoma Congressman
Dan Boren, and some other Democrats who do not believe all Obama claims, the
President’s version of reform has been turned back!
Others who do not believe all of President Obama’s claims
include the Congressional Budget Office. Obama says his plan is
revenue-neutral and its savings will off-set its cost, even while he adds 43
million uninsured people to the health care plans. The CBO says otherwise.
Not because they are evil. But because they crunched the numbers, as
evidently Boren has done as well.
Is Obama telling the truth? You decide. While I am among those
who don’t believe him, I do believe he thinks what he is saying is close to
the truth, if not the gospel truth itself. Congressman Joe Wilson says the
President is lying about illegal aliens being eligible for coverage. Read
the bill. It has no provisions to enforce compliance, and no provision
calling for proof of citizenship. So it’s pretty much like a speed limit in
a town that has no police force.
As expressed in an editorial reprinted in the September 15th Transcript,
(“Civility is dying, and that’s no lie”) we all lose when those we respect
behave like charm-school drop-outs. But the obituary for civility should
have been printed much earlier, perhaps when Democrats booed President
Bush’s 2005 State of the Union Address, or when Nancy Pelosi (now Speaker of
the House) called President Bush a liar, or when Senate Leader Harry Reid
called President Bush a “loser and a liar.” So should have Congress voted
to reprimand Congressman Joe Wilson for calling President Obama a liar? You
decide. I have: Congress should have rebuked Republican Congressman Wilson
“for behaving like a Democrat!”

I am shocked that the Norman Transcript has become so partisan. I opened the paper this morning and found nothing about Acorn being disfunded by the House of Representatives. Earlier you omitted the story about the US Senate doing the same. You’ve censored any news reporting on the discovery of the Acorn scandals in Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York and San Bernardino and any story about the radical communist Van Jones being dismissed from his position as Obama’s Green Jobs Czar.
This country is split between conservatives and liberals. You choose to promote only stories favorable to the liberals. Your paper is the print version of MSNBC. The only thing worth reading in your paper is the Pickles cartoon strip and the sports page! Have you ever considered being fair and balanced?
We need a second newspaper in Norman.

How does the Transcript claim to be “Trusted. Tested. Timeless” and
completely ignore coverage of the Solidarity March and Tea Party Rally last
Sunday? Over 3000 Oklahomans, including many Cleveland County residents
participated in the event, which was part of a nation-wide movement
involving over a million people expressing their concern about the policies
of the Obama Administration and Congress. Most of the local television
stations covered the event as did the biggest newspaper in the state. Yet a
review of both the Transcript’s print and online editions reveals that there
is not a single story covering the event!
Instead, Monday’s edition gives front page treatment to yet another
rehashing of US Representative Joe Wilson and the House Democratic
Leadership’s calls for a second apology – 5 days after he apologized to
President Obama.
It’s ironic that on Page 2 of Monday’s Transcript is a story reporting that
more Americans than ever believe that the media is politically biased. Look
no further than this very newspaper for explanation.

In what many analysts believe is both an unprecedented and wildly inappropriate partisan move, President Obama has announced that on Tuesday, September 8, he will do an end run around parents and directly target children in what is widely perceived as an effort to implement his extreme leftist political agenda. As millions of parents across the country learn more about his scheme, they have become justifiably outraged. The backlash has been tremendous.
But Obama’s extreme overreach goes well beyond political tastelessness. It’s actually a violation of federal law.
U.S. Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan recently sent a letter to school principals encouraging them to cease academic instruction and have classes tune in to a live speech Obama will give to children during school hours on Tuesday at noon. The DOE even provided lesson plans, sample activities and questions that teachers can use to promote the event. The letter encourages teachers to build background knowledge about the president by reading books about Barack Obama.?
Secretary Duncan is a left-wing Chicago land politician who chose Kevin Jennings as Assistant Deputy Secretary of the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools. Jennings is founder of GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network), an extremist group that promotes forced acceptance of homosexuality and transexuality in schools to children as young as five.
Although, due to the backlash, some of the most offensive language has been softened, students as young as kindergarten will, nonetheless, be asked: Why is it important that we listen to the president? What is the president asking me to do? What specific job is he asking me to do, Children’s writings would later be used to make students accountable to their goals.?
However, Federal law specifically forbids Obama, Duncan or any officer from exercising any direction, supervision, or control over the curriculum, program of instruction, administration, or personnel of any educational institution, school, or school system.? 20 U.S.C. § 3403.
Matt Barber, Director of Cultural Affairs with both Liberty Counsel and Liberty Alliance Action, has notified his children’s school to either opt them out of the President’s illegal indoctrination activities on Tuesday, or they will be home schooled for the day and taught a lesson in the Bill of Rights?
Said Barber: Not only is this a violation of federal law, it’s just plain creepy. It’s
surreal. Obama’s actions here are right out of the playbooks of Saul Alinsky and Chairman Mao. Soviet Russia Sure. America No way. I’m furious. Hands off my children, Mr. President!”
We are a nation of laws, continued Barber, not a federal cult of personality. Obama and the DOE had better pull the plug on this or outraged parents across the country may just insist that members of Congress dust of their high crimes and misdemeanors cheat sheets from the 1990s.
Liberty Counsel is urging parents to demand that schools not participate. If the school allows Obama and the DOE to indoctrinate school children, parents ought to opt their children out of this illegal program.

The administration of President Barack Obama, whose official blogger while Obama was a candidate came under attack for hanging a Communist Party flag in his Harvard apartment, apparently has given permission to raise the emblem of Communist China over the south lawn of the White House.
The plan, reported by several English-language Chinese media outlets, has raised concern among those who are working to guard the United States from outside influences that could be threats.
According to the Global Times English-language edition, the national flag of the communist People’s Republic of China on Sept. 20 will be raised for the first time on the White House’s south lawn – a secured area seldom available for public events – in recognition of the Chinese anniversary.
“The ceremony has gotten official approval,” Xiao Shuigen, secretary of the Union of Chinese American Professional Organizations, told the Times.
It’s always my dream to raise a Chinese flag in the center of Washington, D.C.,” Chen Ronghua, chief of the U.S.-Fujian Association, told the newspaper. “This year, my motherland’s 60th birthday, is the perfect time for it.”
According to China Daily, Chinese associations in the United States applied to have a ceremony.
Such emblems were an issue during Obama’s presidential campaign, when a Houston Fox TV affiliate
captured images of a volunteer in an Obama campaign office working in front of a flag featuring the image of Che Guevara, the South American revolutionary who became Fidel Castro’s executioner after the communist takeover in Cuba.
At that time, the Obama campaign issued a statement calling the flag “inappropriate” and noting that the office where it was displayed was funded by “volunteers” and was not the official campaign headquarters.
However, it was Sam Graham-Felsen, a journalist-on-leave from The Nation, who joined Obama for America in 2007 and worked as the official blogger. He, according to a 2003 article in the Harvard Crimson, adorned one corner of his shared student apartment with “a Communist Party flag … bought on their trip to Russia the summer after sophomore year.” Read More→
