Dear Editor Rieger-
Why is it that some politicians get nervous when the TEN COMMANDMENTS are posted? Is it because that one of the commandments says “Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness” (don’t lie) or because another one says “Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery” (don’t cheat on your wife)? You will notice that I translated the King James Version into modern English for the benefit of those who object to the KJV. Really someone should tell my state legislator Representative Wallace Collins that his Catholic Bible says the same thing, so he doesn’t need to get upset or offended.
“Thou Shalt Not Kill” (including the unborn) might mean something if it were posted, too.
Instead of the KJV, it seems some politicians prefer the BCV (Bill Clinton Version) of the TEN COMMANDMENTS – ( Thou Shalt Not ADMIT Adultery and Thou Shalt Not Agree to What You Mean by “Lying”… )
Post the TEN COMMANDMENTS at our capital? I say post the KJV or any other version ( OK, not the BCV ) at the capital, and also at the clubs, casinos, bars and wherever else politicians might hang out!
Sincerely,
Tamara Miller Helm
