State Party Chairman Gary Jones has announced his intentions to run for State Chairman again. The election will be held in April at the Oklahoma Republican Party State Convention. Gary has done an outstanding job and should be re-elected with out any problems. As of today, I have not heard of any serious challengers. Below are a few of Gary’s accomplishments. I am sure there are a lot more. Maybe some of y’all can send me more of his accomplishments.
1. We were the only state to have every county vote for Bush in 2004 and McCain in 2008.
2. During Gary’s term we have increased Republican registration statewide from 35% to 40%.
3. We were one of only 2 states that increased Republican registration over the Democrats in 2008.
4. We picked up 5 seats in the Oklahoma Senate and 13 seats in the Oklahoma House since Gary has been our Chairman. I believe this is the most under any chairman, gaining majority in both chambers for the first time in state history.
5. Gary has raised more money during his term as Chairman than under any previous Chairman.
6. Gary has personally contributed over $50,000 in salary and donations to the party since he has been our chairman.
