It makes me ill. I am also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and am watching the hate with interest here in CA. With the whole homosexuality thing it all boils down to this: you either believe it is genetic and cannot be controlled, or you believe it is a choice. There are many arguments and evidences for the latter. That distinction often gets lost in emotion. But it is THAT distinction that sets this issue apart from others.
