a conservative will never pass a red budget. a conservative will never increase the size or the power of the government. a conservative will make people responsible for their own actions. a conservative uses common sense judgment in spending other peoples money. a conservative gives to those in need willingly out his own pocket, while not forcing others to do the same. a conservative will build a strong effective national defense. America has not had a president in the last 50 years that has done these things. a liberal forces every one to pay for the folly of others, a liberal wants those that work hard and get ahead to pay higher tax rates than those that don’t. a liberal wants people to depend on the welfare of the government to provide daily common sense needs. a liberal government will spend more than it steals causing a run away debt. a liberal will cut spending on national defense and use that money on social programs to get the people dependent on the government. how people call bush a conservative is just wrong he was way more liberal than clinton, who was considered a liberal. are people confusing the name republican with title conservative? there are very few conservative republicans out there, just like there are a few conservative democrats. unless they are comparing bush to obama you could never call him conservative. obama=bush X bush more of the same bad government only worst. understanding what conservatives and liberals are which was bush?

Bush was certainly not a conservative president. The congresses he served under were even less so.
I’ve noticed that most state governments are far more conservative (be they democrat or republican) than any in the Washington DeCeipt corps.
Shouldn’t we fight to ratify a sweeping amendment requiring U.S. Representatives and Senators each to defer their vote to their state’s legislators?
For example, Texas has 151 state-level lower house districts but only 32 U.S. Congressional seats. Wouldn’t we be better represented by requiring the U.S. House members to ‘echo’ the vote of those state-level reps whose districts fall within their (U.S. reps) district?
Texas also has 32 state-level senators but the normal 2 U.S. senators. I would much prefer our two senate votes be decided by the 32 state-level senators.
Logical conservatism would naturally take hold since special interests could not afford to coerce or pay off that many representatives and senators.
…
Yes, he’s a Republican Hero. Of course he more than doubled the National Debt like all Republican Presidents.
No way. He drastically expanded the size of government, ran on an anti nation building campaign then proceeded to nation build, passed some really anti American legislation, never vetoed a spending bill…
No, that’s what conservatives USED to be.
Now they are just laissez-faire capitalists who when in government feel that brute force and intimidation is the only way to deal with foreign relations.
So are you calling liberals hypocrites for supporting Obama but not Bush?
No. He was a Neo-con and they are religious liberal globalists that came form southern democrats in the 60′s and 70′s when Johnson swung the Dems to far left and then McGovern threatened to bring it even further left.
no
No. We can thank Bush for this commie takeover. He laid the ground work for it.
No, and he wasn’t a Liberal either but, a right wing version of a Progressive.
The left wing Progressives have hijacked the name Liberal, which is a shame since real Liberals have helped change this country for the better on many occasions. Liberals of their time took on, for example, the abolition of slavery, women’s suffrage, and child labor laws, and should not be associated with Progressive tyrants, who wish to destroy the Constitution.
Right wing Progressives have done the same damage to the good name of Conservatives, to the point that most people don’t even remember what Conservatism really is, any more than they remember what real Liberalism is all about.
Bush has a spotted record. He caved in to the left on many things, and of course he did not get any warm fuzzies from them for doing so. His No Child Left Behind legislation was a fiasco.
On the positive side, he didn’t think raising taxes and expenses on the private sector through the roof was the way to stimulate the economy. Most of the things Democrats are blaming on him, were things THEY did with Bush’s complicity. Let’s get a real conservative in the white house and cut all this BS.
Bush was a social conservative and a fiscal liberal.
