On Saturday, I was saddened to learn of EZ Million’s passing. He passed away due to complications of blood clots and infection. Just recently, he had to
have one leg amputated.
I first met EZ, in 1968-69 at my mom’s house in South OKC. EZ and my brother-in-law were active in the Republican Party and also at that time were always talking about computers. At the time, I actually thought both of them were a little strange.
EZ was one of the first conservatives in Cleveland County. He was a true believer that Congress should follow the Constitution. He preached this long before anyone else had ever thought about using the words “Constitutional Conservative”.
I do not believe we will ever have another EZ Million, he was an excellent statistician, colorful and sometimes controversial. He advocated for the OU/Texas game to be a home and home series and even talked about the amount of money Norman loses each year with the game being in Dallas.
EZ used to call me once or twice a week, asking who is running or who should be running for the Senate or the House in Cleveland County and he would recommend speakers for our luncheon club. He was a major advocate in trying
to get conservatives involved in School Board and City Council races.
I am proud to call EZ Million a friend. We will miss EZ, who without a question, was one of a kind!
Bobby
