Presenting the Hussein Administration’s proposal for Soviet style health care, Obama may not be very truthful. As the debate continues and people are able to question the merits of the plan, many Americans are becoming distrustful. Polls now have a majority saying that the plan would increase cost and decrease care and access to medical treatment.
Last night President Obama, faced many questions that just did not seem to add up. Is the President purposely misleading the American people or does he even know what his own plan’s description? Either one is dangerous. Could this be his “Waterloo”? Many political pundits and Republican leaders have stated it could be. If health care is in such a crisis and if we have to hurry to get people who choose not to be covered to be covered, then why didn’t the President choose to spend trillions of dollars on a stimulus, banking and the auto industry?
The the American people need to start realizing that this plan is a way to Soviet style control. The are many ways to address the cost of health care. Health Care is a life style choose.
The New York Times has an interesting report on last night’s Polit Bureau news conference.
WASHINGTON — President Obama showed great fluency in the intricate details of health policy at his news conference on Wednesday night, but experts said some of his points were debatable.
Mr. Obama said doctors, nurses, hospitals, drug companies and AARP had supported efforts to overhaul health care.
While it is true the American Medical Association has endorsed a bill drafted by House Democratic leaders, a half-dozen state medical societies have sharply criticized provisions that would establish a new government-run health insurance plan.
Likewise, Mr. Obama said Medicare could save large amounts of money by creating “an independent group of doctors and medical experts who are empowered to eliminate waste and inefficiency” and hold down the annual increases in payments to health care providers.
Far from supporting this proposal, the American Hospital Association is urging hospital executives to lobby against it.
Of the proposed new cost-control agency, Mr. Obama said: “It’s not going to reduce Medicare benefits. What it’s going to do is to change how those benefits are delivered so that they’re more efficient.”
Hospitals say the cuts could indeed cut services in some rural areas and from teaching hospitals, which receive extra payments because of higher costs.
In seeking to portray health legislation as bipartisan, Mr. Obama said that 160 Republican amendments were adopted in a bill approved last week by the Senate health committee. Republicans said many of the amendments involved technical provisions and did not alter the fundamental features of the bill.
The president said that health insurance companies were making “record profits.” America’s Health Insurance Plans, the main lobby for insurers, contends that “for every $1 spent on health care in America, approximately one penny goes to health plans’ profits.” Read more…..

Right on, we have to stop the fast moving train to Soviet style control. I am calling my Congressman and Senators to tell them to not support this.
I wanted free health care. But now I don’t know just how free it will be. There is always a cost for something even if it is not monetary.
People need to do the math on this. Covering *more* people actually generates savings because it cuts down on expensive Emergency procedures.
Getting a Public Plan for those who hate their for-profit insurer saves *money* because the Public Plan doesn’t pay fat Executive salaries and waste money trying to duck out of paying claims. If your claim is for $25,000, your insurer has an economic incentive to spend $24,999 on paper-pushers trying to deny it. And they do!
Yes, Private Insurers only skim a penny off every dollar. But what do we get for that penny? Drugs? No. Doctors? No. Hospital buildings? No. The Private Insurance Industry collects 1% for doing NOTHING OF VALUE. That is what is outrageous about this system. That is why we must support the President, otherwise nothing will change.
